Laur Joamets Now Uses Gearcheck

We are proud to share that Estonian guitarist Laur Joamets is now using Gearcheck to preserve and organize the records of his instruments.

Joamets’ path is one of the more remarkable stories in recent Nashville history. Raised in Estonia, he developed a distinctive voice on the guitar far from the traditional centers of American music. Through a series of unlikely connections he found himself in Nashville, where he became the longtime guitarist for Sturgill Simpson. What followed was a rapid rise: thousands of stages around the world, television appearances, and a place among the most respected players in the city. His style—blending country, blues, rock, and more exploratory edges—helped shape some of the most distinctive sounds in modern Americana and beyond.

Throughout that journey, Joamets has relied on a set of unique instruments that have traveled with him across continents. Those guitars now carry a permanent digital foundation. All of his instruments are preserved on Gearcheck, with RFID tags inserted in his most prized pieces. The physical identifier and blockchain-anchored record together make each instrument truly one of a kind—its history, identity, and story secured for the long term.
