We are proud to share that John Bohlinger—longtime Nashville ace, bandleader, and the familiar face of Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown series—is using Gearcheck to organize and preserve the records of his instrument collection.
Bohlinger has spent decades at the center of Nashville’s working music scene. He led the band on NBC’s Nashville Star, served for years as music director for the CMT Music Awards, and has directed music for specials on PBS and GAC. As a multi-instrumentalist and session player he has backed a long list of major artists across stages and studios. For more than a decade he has also been the primary host of Premier Guitar’s Rig Rundown videos, giving players around the world an inside look at the gear of the greats while quietly building a reputation as one of the city’s most knowledgeable and enthusiastic gear heads.
That enthusiasm shows in his own collection. Bohlinger has assembled some genuinely special instruments over the years—pieces that reflect both a working musician’s practical needs and a collector’s eye for character and history. Those instruments now live on Gearcheck, giving him a clear, organized, and durable way to keep their records, photographs, and stories intact.
We are honored to help a lifelong Nashville player and gear enthusiast keep the history of his instruments as carefully documented as the music he has helped make with them.
Every record. Every story.
